Supporting pupils with additional needs

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:

  • We will ensure all children with SEND have a suitable device when working from home, and that additional staff support is provided remotely – this may be one2one sessions or other differentiated approaches.
  • Our SEND staff will also be providing extra calls/emails to our most vulnerable families, in addition to the normal communications.
  • For families with younger pupils, for example those in reception and year 1, we will also be regularly asking you for feedback via Tapestry and Forms, as well as adapting the length and scheduling of our teaching to suit this age group.
